Have you ever wondered about your dreams, especially recurring ones? The other evening I was invited to a friend’s home for dinner and all the guests were very curious about this topic when our hostess mentioned I have taught classes and provide sessions in dream therapy. The title of this blog is exactly what the Kabbala says a dream is, “An Unopened Letter to Yourself.” For those who don’t know, the Kabbala is Jewish mysticism.
I first got interested in dream counseling when I was studying Jungian psychology and then the work of the Senoi Indians and Dr. Bradshaw. Dreams allow our subconscious mind to try and sort out the details of a day. Sometimes, you wake and wonder what your dreams were about because they seem to make no sense. Remember that many images in your dreams represent other ideas or are symbolic of something else.
For example, one person realized that she was giving her power away because she kept dreaming about fearing that she was not good enough and could not understand what that was about. Another former client shared that he kept dreaming about being stuck in an elevator with his brother and realized it was because he and his brother had a falling out and never restored their relationship. He decided to write his brother a letter after that.
For the past three decades, I have offered classes, seminars and private sessions for those seeking more information about their dreams and utilizing them in a way that is conducive to feeling good about themselves and resolving issues from the past. Feel free to invite me to your community or home with some friends for an informal yet informative meeting.
You might be curious about dreams that give you specific dates and or numbers. Those could be dates that you need to be aware of. In the past, I dreamt of the exact date that I would be moving to another country unbeknownst to me at the time. I had written that date down. Another true story is when I was getting divorced years ago and didn’t know my ex-husband’s social security number and had to give it to the attorney because we were both living in different places and I dreamt it and called the attorney and gave it to him!
In closing, I look forward to hearing from you about this interesting topic. We have so much wisdom available to us if we can but learn to access it. Happy Dreaming!
